Sewerage lines of 3 dyeing units snapped
TNN | Feb 15, 2019, 07:35 ISTLudhiana: MC officials snapped the sewerage connections of three dyeing units on Tajpur Road on Thursday. These lines were connected to the domestic sewerage line, instead of the sewerage line meant for dyeing units. Officials also started cleaning sewerage lines in various wards under East constituency, after councillors flooded the mobile of MC commissioner KP Brar on Wednesday, with pictures of choked sewerage in the areas.
The dyeing units were located in Mahaveer Complex on Tajpur Road, and they had connected their overflow of water with the domestic sewerage line, due to which sewerage in the entire area got choked. Officials claimed there was a problem in these areas, so they have snapped the connections.
Superintending engineer of operation and maintenance cell, while confirming the move, said: “The connections were illegal, so we have disconnected them. Cleaning in ward 7 and 15 has been kicked off, and residents will get their desired relief.”
