Beto O'Rourke Says He Wouldn't 'Finish the Wall,' He'd 'Take the Wall Down'

Quite the opposite of President Trump’s ‘Build the Wall’ and ‘Finish the Wall’ rhetoric, former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke says he would take down the wall near El Paso, Texas.????In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, the host referred to a tweet from Representative Dan Crenshaw, a supporter of President Trump’s wall plan…????...who asked O’Rourke “If you could snap your fingers and make El Paso’s border wall disappear, would you?”????O’Rourke not only said “Absolutely.

I’d take the wall down” but the El Paso native shared his criticisms of the 600 miles of border wall that had already been built since the Secure Fence Act was passed in 2006…????(Beto SOT)??“What that has done is not in any demonstrable way made us safer, it’s cost us tens of billions of dollars to build and to maintain...and it has pushed migrants and asylum seekers and refugees to the most inhospitable, the most hostile stretches of the U.S./Mexico border ensuring their suffering and death” ????While President Trump held a rally in El Paso pushing to ‘Finish the Wall’, nearby O’Rourke was a key speaker at a well-attended opposition rally.????Congress has passed a spending bill that will now include $1.375 billion for border construction to avoid another government shutdown.????The White House says Trump will sign the bill but will also declare a national emergency to secure more wall funding.
