2019 Honda Civic Launch Date Revealed & Expected Price In India
Honda Car India has revealed that the 2019 Civic will be launched on the 7th of March. Bookings for this premium sedan have already begun at an initial amount of Rs 31,000 across all authorised Honda dealerships in the country. What we are to learn from recent media reports is that the 2019 Honda Civic is expected to be priced between Rs 18-24 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Competing against the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Hyundai Elantra, the All-New Honda Civic is very aggressive in its appeal. Following the footsteps of its European model, Honda Civic will come loaded with hoards of features. Worth mentioning is a 7.0-inch infotainment system that comes compatible with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, dual airbags followed by side and curtain airbags to name a few.
The high point of Honda Civic 2019 will be its diesel powertrain. Introduced for the first time since its inception, the latest edition will get a 1.6 litre i-DTEC engine under the hood. This engine is capable of producing a power output of 118 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by a six manual gearbox while the fuel efficiency is claimed to be 26.8 kmpl (ARAI certified figure). While the petrol would be a 1.8-litre engine that pumps out 139 bhp with 173 Nm of peak torque. This particular variant will cater to three different driving modes – Drive, Eco and Sport. A key thing to note out here is that Honda will not be offering a manual gearbox on the petrol Civic. There will only be a CVT on board.
