The AMC standing committee plans to develop a night-time food street at Law Garden in the next six months. The project costs approximately Rs 5.35 crore. The newly designed street will be used for vehicle parking during the day and food street in the night. "The work has been sanctioned. It will come up in six months. During the day, both the sides of roads there will be parking, while during the night, the right side road will be given to the food wagons," said Amul Bhatt, standing committee chairman.

"We will invite tenders for those who want to run the wagon food business. We are not going to give land or space to those who had occupied the space earlier. There will be 25 to 30 blocks for wagons," said Bhatt.

Mayor Bijal Patel said that as per a 2018 survey, more than 90 people were claiming that they were running shops at the space. "We learnt that many people had registered names of their relatives and staff members to avail benefits," said Patel.

Patel added the tenders would be floated and the highest bidder would get the space. "The contract would be given for 12 months. Interestingly, the civic body has given the contract to develop the street at 25.92% high rate than the estimation.
