BOSTON — Northeastern University announced the following students were recently named to the University’s dean’s list for the fall semester:

Hannah Nelson, of Assonet, majoring in biology;  Brittany Pavao, of Fall River, majoring in American Sign Language; Eddy Raad, of Somerset, majoring in biology; Mackenzie Mitchell, of Somerset, majoring in physical therapy; Tyler Fernandes, of Swansea, majoring in mechanical engineering; William Medeiros, of Fall River, majoring in chemical engineering; Michael Monte, of Somerset, majoring in chemical engineering

 

PROVIDENCE — The Community College of Rhode Island announced that Samantha-Rose Cabral and Tyler Silva, both of Fall River, have been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester.

 

WALPOLE — Bailey Souza, of Assonet, took advantage of the school’s flexible learning program and recently graduated from TEC Connections Academy (TECCA) during a ceremony at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts in Franklin.

 

NORTHFIELD, Vt.  —  Kimberly Danielle Huyler, Westport, has been recognized on the dean's list at Norwich University for the fall semester.

 

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Jason Ramos of Dighton, excelled during the fall 2018 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean's List at Hofstra University

 

MEDFORD/SOMERVILLE — Tufts University recently announced the following area students who were named to the dean's list for the fall semester:

James Cassell of South Dartmouth, Anthony Mahoney-Pacheco of Fall River

 

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Lindsey Bedard of North Dartmouth, achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester, earning a spot on the provost's list at Hofstra University

 

WORCESTER — Cassie Graca of Somerset, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in civil engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in Nantucket. The project was titled Covenant Housing Program Expansion. In their project summary, the students wrote, "The goal of this project was to help Housing Nantucket expand their Covenant Housing Program by targeting potential sellers through the analysis and development of marketing materials."

 

DURHAM, NH — The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire in December. Students who received the honor of summa cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85-4.0; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.65-3.84; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.64. Students are only graduated after the Registrar's Office has certified that all degree requirements have been successfully completed. Participating in the commencement ceremony is the act of honoring and celebrating academic achievement.

WORCESTER — The following local residents were among students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) who recently completed intense, hands-on research projects.

Amanda Grossi of Dighton, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in biology and biotechnology, was a member of a student team that completed a project through the WPI project center in Cape Town, South Africa. The project was titled Developing an Interactive and Adaptable Curated Collection for the Cape Town Museum of Childhood. In their project summary, the students wrote, "To support the Centre for Early Childhood Development's (CECD) creation of the Cape Town Museum of Childhood, this project makes recommendations for the museum's State of the World's Children curated collection."

Brandon Terry of Westport, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in electrical and computer engineering, was a member of a student team that completed a project through the WPI project center in Worcester, England. The project was titled University of Worcester Bike Share: Woo Bikes. In their project summary, the students wrote, "Current students of the University and employees of these agencies were evaluated to help the team better understand the motivations of current cyclists and the barriers to non-cyclists. The team used this data to formulate recommendations for how e-bike usage could be increased, thus, another stride can be made towards a green future."

 

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The University of Hartford announced the following students have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester

HARRISONBURG, VA — Genevieve Marchand, of Assonet, has been named to the dean's list at James Madison University for the fall session. 

 

ALMA, MI — Cosette Coston of Tiverton, has been named to the Alma College dean's list for the fall term. Coston is studying psychology/theatre and is a graduate of Tiverton High School.
