The last week has produced two riveting local boys' high school basketball finishes, with Diman Regional and Somerset Berkley Regional both prevailing on buzzer-beating shots, by Lyndon Carreiro and Austin Macek, respectively.
And now we bring to you video of both. (The Macek video starts with GNB's go-ahead basket. Let the video continue to run.)

The wildness started last Friday, at SBR, when the Raiders trailed Greater New Bedford 90-89, with one second left in overtime, and the Raiders inbounding under their own basket after a timeout. Jake Meehan, the SBR football quarterback, fired a pass over halfcourt to Macek, near the right sideline. Macek made a leaping catch in traffic in front of his own bench, quickly spun and fired (with good form) a very high arcing 28-foot shot which found nothing but net for a 92-90 win. The basket ignited a student-fans-storm-the-court celebration.
On Wednesday night at Westport, Diman, also inbounding under its own basket, trailed the host Wildcats 58-57 with 7.5 seconds left. Mason Gomes took a pass near halfcourt, attacked the basket and missed a short flip shot. A hustling J.C. King's rebound and put-back also missed. Carreiro, also hustling, executed a two-hand tip-in, the ball bouncing briefly on the rim and falling through the hoop as time expired for a 59-58 win, the Bengals' first win at Westport, according to coach Nick Santos, in 25-plus years.
