Huge animal husbandry park on anvil

An integrated, state-of-the-art multidisciplinary animal husbandry park, the largest such facility in Asia, will be set up in Salem, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami said.

Making a suo motu announcement in the Assembly on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said the park will come up on an area spread over 900 acres belonging to the Animal Husbandry Department. The facility will be set up at a cost of ₹396 crore, he said. The park will have three divisions, comprising a modern veterinary hospital, a milch cows farm to demonstrate the latest farm techniques to farmers, a business incubation centre, a farm for native-breed cows, a local dog breed facility, among others.
