The third Asian Roll Ball Championship will be held at Shivganga Skating Ground in Belagavi from February 21.
Nearly 200 players from 12 countries are expected to participate in the game. They include teams from Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bhutan, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, UAE and the Maldives apart from the host team from India.
Roll Ball is a competitive game played by players on roller skates.
They dribble the ball and shoot into the goal post of the other side. This was invented by Raju Dabhade of Pune in 2003.
Its popularity has spread widely and there are over 50 countries in three continents playing Roll Ball.
In the last 16 years, the International Roll Ball Federation has conducted four World Cups, two Asian Championships, three SAF Championships and some international series.
