Water woes continue in Santacruz as residents complained of frequent disruption of water supply since monsoon.
Damage to the valve of mainline which supplies water to Kalina, Prabhat colony, Vakola, and Shivaji Nagar area and the water department's efforts to repair it led to irregular water supply on Wednesday.
The Santacruz residents get two and a half hour water supply in the morning. But on Wednesday the supply didn't start on time. After repeated complaints from the residents, engineers and technicians from the water department rushed to the spot. "The valve of the line was damaged. BMC workers repaired the valve by afternoon after which the residents received water for an hour," said an officer from H East Ward.
Earlier on Republic Day, water supply from Santacruz was stopped owing to a technical fault in the main water supply valve. It took 15-long hours to repair the glitch, making the taps go dry for 24 hours.
