Rangayana to stage 2 plays
TNN | Feb 14, 2019, 06:22 ISTDharwad: The Dharwad Rangayana, which is making new experiments in theatre, will present a play based on the Russian novel Akaki Kotu on its premises on February 15 and 16. The show will begin at 7.30pm on both days.
Dharwad Rangayana director Pramod Shiggoan said that the play is being enacted in memory of noted theatre personality late Enagi Nataraj, who was the director of Dharwad Rangayana. It also coincides with the valedictory of a 25-day residential theatre training programme.
Theatre director P Gangadhar Swamy and Enagi Laxmibai will be the chief guests at the programme. Vishweshwari Hiremath, camp director Chennakeshava and Sanjiv Kulkarni will be the other guests. The play Sri Rama Paduka Pattabhishekha, directed by Prakash Garud will be staged from 6.30pm at its open-air theatre on February 21 and 22 .
Pramod said that Rangayana had for the first time conducted a special training camp for 25 days in which 25 artistes were trained in various aspects of theatre.
