JAIPUR: An 18-year-old girl alleged in her complaint to Jhunjhunu police that four of her cousins allegedly gang-raped her for three years while she was still a minor. The Khetri Nagar police on Tuesday registered an FIR under Sections 376-D (gang rape) of the IPC, and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) as the girl was minor at the time when the incident took place.

“The FIR also alleges that she had become pregnant and the accused forced her to undergo an abortion. The accused are relatives to the survivor and she considered them as her cousins,” an official said, adding that two youths named in the FIR are siblings. The investigation into the case has been handed over to a deputy SP (DSP) level officer. “The girl’s statement was recorded by the police and an FIR has been registered into the case. All the accused are named and identified by the girl,” the official told TOI.

“As soon as the complaint was filed, we registered an FIR into the case. The accused will be quizzed too and medical examination will be carried out soon,” the official said, adding that the police are planning to grill the four youths named in the FIR. “The girl said that the accused had threatened to kill her if she ever complained to her parents. She also said she was frightened and decided not to speak, until she became pregnant and narrated her ordeal to her parents,” the official said. Police said that the girl’s father has also given his statement.
