Indore: A 42-year-old engineer from Kota was nabbed by We Care For You cell of city crime branch police for allegedly sending letters to two city girls for marriage. He also threatened the girls if they refused for his proposal. The accused was handed over to Kanadiya police station staff for further action.
Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Amarendra Singh said two girls, residents of Kanadiya, had lodged a complaint that an unidentified person is sending them letters through Madhur Courier service. They said his marriage proposal carry threats. They said he is forcing them to marry him and threatened them with dire consequences if they denied. Accused had mentioned his name as Malhakn Singh as sender but he did not mention his address.
A team of cell was constituted to trace the accused. During the investigation, team approached the office of courier service from where the letters were booked but the persons at courier office could not give details about the accused. However, they said that person had mentioned his name as Malkhan Singh and he had booked the posts for other districts also. Courier office owner was told to give information about the accused if he reaches again to book courier.
As the accused reached courier office to send posts again, courier employee immediately informed the police after which team reached there and arrested him. Accused has been identified as Vikas Tamrakar, a resident of Kota, Rajasthan. Vikas told police that he has completed his BE from a college in Vidisha and employed in a company as an engineer in Kota.
One of his close relatives stays in Indore whom he visits very often. He used to book courier only from Indore to hide his identity. Accused said he had obtained girls’ addresses from the matrimonial magazine of a community and started sending them letter. He had watched a movie scripted on life of Malkhan Singh, Robin Hood of Chambal region. After that he mentioned his name as Malkhan Singh as the sender.
