Michael Lohan is very supportive of his ex-wife’s new relationship — even if almost everyone else has had their doubts.

After last week’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, where Dina Lohan revealed she’s been talking to “a special someone” for five years but has never met him in real life or even FaceTimed, many suggested that she was likely being catfished, including her daughter Lindsay Lohan.

Dina, 56, however, was confident that her relationship was real — and now she has her ex-husband backing her up.

On Wednesday, Michael, 58, spoke to Access and had nothing bad to say about Dina’s new man, who he identified as Jesse Nadler, a 53-year-old resident of Tiburon, California. (Nadler’s identity was revealed earlier on Wednesday by Nev Schulman, the host of MTV series Catfish.)

Michael told the outlet that Nadler had reached out over social media and they got talking “for over an hour.” The star also shared his seal of approval for Dina’s boyfriend and hoped that by speaking out, it would shut down any catfishing rumors.

“The guy reached out to me on Facebook via message. We texted for about an hour,” he explained to Access. “He even sent me snapshots of his communication with Dina to prove himself to be true.”

“He called, we spoke for over an hour,” Michael continued, noting that their conversation “got into great detail.”

Michael also said that he was happy for his ex-wife, whom he divorced more than a decade ago, and felt she and Nadler were a great match.

“He’s a really nice guy with a good heart and I like him,” he revealed. “And if he makes Dina happy, I’m happy for them. Dina needs somebody in her life she can trust and quite honestly, after my communication with him and knowing her, they are perfect for each other.”

“Because they plan on a face to face at the end of the show, I feel it’s appropriate talking about this to put the rumors to rest,” he added.

Michael is not the only one from Dina’s family to speak out about her unique relationship. Lindsay, 32, also recently shared her thoughts, but unlike her father, she wasn’t so easily convinced about her mom’s new boyfriend.

Following last Thursday’s episode — where Dina insisted to her fellow houseguests, Kandi BurrussTamar Braxton and Natalie Eva Marie, that she would marry Nadler — Lindsay extended her support for her mother on Instagram.

“@dinalohan so proud of you mommy!” Lindsay responded on Big Brother‘s official Instagram comment, which referenced the “fight to the finish” on finale week.

She added, “But no more weird #catfish please.”

Michael’s honest opinion of Dina’s boyfriend comes hours after Schulman disclosed — and confirmed — Nadler’s identity.

The reality show host, who popularized the phrase referring to people being duped into online relationships, immediately offered his services in tracking down the mystery man after learning of Dina’s situation last week.

But in a tweet shared on Wednesday, Schulman announced that he had finally found Nadler.

“UPDATE: found @dinalohan’s boyfriend…but his story is way bigger than I could have ever imagined,” Schulman wrote.

In a follow-up tweet, Schulman shared a photo of Nadler, writing: “CONFIRMED: Jesse Nadler is Dina Lohan’s boyfriend. Much much more coming soon…”

Nadler himself had been tweeting about his supposed relationship with Dina since last week, insisting that he’s not a catfish.

“I’ll be the judge of that…” Schulman replied.

Nadler told Page Six that he’s coming forward because he doesn’t want to be known as a “catfish” after Dina’s housemates expressed their skepticisms about his existence.

“I’m a good guy,” he said. “I’m the real deal. Just the thought of people thinking I could be a catfish when everyone knows me and knows how hard I work and how I respect women and mothers, it just kills me.”

Nadler, who said he works in commercial real estate, told Page Six he has never met Dina in person due to his mother’s failing health, which she also referenced on the show.

Dina and Michael settled their divorce in 2005. The former couple got married in 1985 but agreed to a separate 20 years later. In addition to Lindsay, the couple shares daughter Ali, 25, and their two sons Cody, 22, and Michael Jr., 31.

The live two-hour season finale of Celebrity Big Brother airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
