Amelia was discharged the very next day and within four days of her surgery was on a flight back to South Australia with her family.

'She's definitely a fighter. She's been a fighter since birth,' Anndrea Hocking, Amelia's mother, told Nine News.

The past two years have been an extremely difficult time for the teenager who struggled with nausea, dizziness, blurred vision and vomiting due to the 10mm by 11mm pineal cyst.

In a bid to find out what was happening with their daughter, Mrs Hocking took Amelia to several doctors who turned them away saying she was suffering from anxiety and depression.

Eventually, they came across renowned brain surgeon Dr Teo who would help remove the cyst.

Amelia is slowly regaining her strength and is going back to school every few days.

'I felt completely different. I just knew,' Amelia told the publication.

'I woke up from surgery and I didn't have a headache.'

The family has struggled to pay for Amelia's surgery and has created a GoFundMe page to help pay off the $100,000 surgery bill.

Upon reaching $50,000, Variety SA donated the remaining funds to ensure Amelia received the surgery.
