Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has decided to conduct a two-day digital yatra in Wanaparthy district to inculcate digital literacy among the students in government schools on February 16 and 17.
As part of the programme, techies, members of TITA would spend two days in the 137 government schools in Wanaparthy district to teach 12,319 students the basis of digital literacy. The TITA would give certificates to all students who would participate in the digital literacy programme, global working president of the organisation Sandeep Kumar Makthala said here on Monday.
Stating that District Collector Shweta Mohanty and District Education Officer Susheendra Rao had assured cooperation to TITA for carrying out the digital literacy programme , Mr. Makthala said class 8 and 9 students would be trained in digital literacy as part of the 16-hour training.
Aspects such as computer basics, awareness on internet, creating e-mail, carrying out cashless transactions, google maps and search engines would be covered in the training.
At a preparatory meeting on the training programme held in TITA office here on Tuesday, about 150 techies volunteered to visit Wanaparthy on February 16 and 17. During their stay in residential schools, TITA members will also conduct camp fire and group discussions.
