Teenager held for killing friend, cops look for three others

Varanasi: The Lanka police, on Wednesday, arrested a teenaged boy for allegedly killing his friend Yuvaraj Singh (15) with the help of three others.

Yuvaraj was hacked to death near Dhaphi area on February 9. Police recovered Yuraj’s mobile phone from the possession of the arrested boy.


SP City Dinesh Kumar Singh informed reporters that the Lanka police nabbed a 16-year-old boy from Narainpur area and recovered Yuvraj’s mobile phone from his possession. According to the police, the arrested youth confessed that he along with three others had attacked Yuvaraj with liquor bottles and bricks following a minor dispute while partying in a room along Varanasi-Allahabad national highway-2 in Dhaphi area on February 9.


All the five youths reached the room on February 9. After consuming liquor there they had a dispute following which four of them attacked Yuvaraj and fled. Some passerby noticed Yuvraj’s cries and reported the matter to inspector Lanka Bharat Bhushan. The inspector rushed him to Trauma Centre of BHU but he succumbed on way to hospital.


SP city said that the other accuseds have also been identified and efforts are being made to nab them.
