Cape Town - England's star speedster James Anderson reached a Test bowling milestone he's unlikely to have been aware of when dismissing West Indian opener John Campbell on Tuesday.

The wicket was the 100th occasion that Anderson had taken the first wicket to have fallen in a Test innings.

Anderson, 36, would go on to finish with figures of 3-27 as England claimed a consolation third Test victory over their Windies opponents in St Lucia.

The West Indies held an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-Test series heading into the final clash.

Predictably, with fast bowlers opening the attack, the Top 10 list is dominated by quicks, with Australia's Glenn McGrath in second place on 97 and India's Kapil Dev rounding off the 'podium' with 82.

Interestingly, Proteas pair Shaun Pollock and Dale Steyn are tied on 62 apiece, with Steyn favoured to move ahead of his compatriot during the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, starting in Durban on Wednesday.

Anderson is also the all-time leading fast bowler wicket-taker in Test history with 575 scalps, and only trails three retired spinners: Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Australia's Shane Warne (708) and India's Anil Kumble (619).
