Chandigarh school Hosts Delegation from Knoxville, USA

NEW DELHI: Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh received a delegation of seven students and two Educators from the Webb School, Knoxville, USA under the Students Exchange Programme. The guests were received by the Interactors and the gracious Indian host families with much excitement on 11th February 2019.
The delegation was accorded a warm welcome by the Senior Principal Vineeta Arora and Vice Principal Suparna Bansal on arrival in the school.
A Special Morning Assembly by the Human Excellence Club ‘Sanskara’ was organised to celebrate Basant Panchami. The students, through heartfelt speeches, explained how Basant Panchami helps us renew our fervour and fills our lives with joy and colours. Kite flying- a defining element of Basant Puja was organised for the guest students and the students of class VI in which everybody participated with abounding enthusiasm.
The Students Exchange Programme goes a long way in bringing two countries closer and is an effective way to build bridges of understanding amongst students, said Arora.
The students and the escorting teachers were taken around the school and got an opportunity to observe the teaching techniques and interact with the students in the classrooms. A special Basketball match was organized between the students from Webb School and Bhavanites.
During their stay in Chandigarh the visitors will be taken around to the places of tourist interest and gain a first hand’s experience of Indian culture and tradition. In all, their visit will prove to be enlightening and imbibe new ideas to lead towards the betterment of society.
