MYSURU: In a first, the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB), which conducts state board class 10 examinations, has digitally transmitted the hall tickets of 8.4 lakh SSLC students to their respective schools.
Until this year, the board used to print the hall tickets at a central press unit and despatch them by road days in advance. The process is history from this year.
After transmitting the hall tickets on Monday evening, the examination board shared login and password with all school headmasters via WhatsApp. The schools started downloading the hall tickets and handing out the printouts to students from Tuesday. The examinations begin on March 23 and end on April 4.
Principals can download tickets
KSEEB director (examinations) V Sumangala told TOI the board kicked off the hall ticket digitization exercise late last year, collecting details of regular as well as private candidates. In December, the board asked school principals to crosscheck students’ credentials before uploading them online. “After verification, we uploaded the hall tickets on to our server. School principals can now download them with the password that has been shared with them,” she said.
Manorama, who heads Shantala School in the city, said the hall ticket download process started on Monday evening. “However, we started the process on Tuesday, and handed out printouts of hall tickets to students,” she added.
The KSEEB officer said deputy directors of public instruction can take a decision on attendance shortage of a student if the deficit is 15 days or less, and the board will step in if the deficit extends up to 30 days.
