NEW DELHI: Any problems faced while travelling in a DTC bus can now be submitted to the corporation on its mobile application, which was launched on Wednesday. The app, available only on the Android platform, will soon have other features like route planner.
“This is a milestone moment in DTC’s history and a step in the right direction,” said state transport minister Kailash Gahlot. Until now, commuters had to lodge complaints by calling DTC’s central control room or on the Delhi government’s PGMS portal.
Gahlot said any grievance raised by passengers should be addressed in a time-bound manner. As soon as a complaint is lodged, an alert is sent to the depot manager concerned. “After receiving the complaint, necessary action will be taken and the complainant will be informed of the action taken,” a DTC spokesperson said. “In future, route planner and other information will also be incorporated.
The app has been developed by Volkswagen ITS (India), under its CSR programme.
The menu on the app gives various options under which complaints can be submitted, such as excess charge, rash driving, not stopping at a bus stop, rude behaviour, etc. If a passenger faces an issue that is not listed on the menu, a complaint can be submitted under miscellaneous category.
The transport minister also said that the enforcement wing of the department will soon crack down on bus drivers who don’t stop at the designated spot at bus stops.
