WESTPORT — Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III and other law enforcement officials will announce a new initiative Thursday aimed at tracking down and apprehending the region’s most wanted fugitives.
The press conference to announce the unveiling of the initiative will be at 10:30 a.m. in the Colonial Room at White’s of Westport, 66 State Road, according to a news release from Gregg Miliote, a spokesman for DA Quinn.
Quinn will be joined at the news conference by members of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and police chiefs from across Bristol County, he said.
The new initiative will be web-based and will include engagement from the public to reduce the growing problem of fugitives from justice skipping court and continuing to be free on the streets of Bristol County, according to Miliote.
