Northeast India remained restive over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill even though the Centre, which listed it for introduction in the
Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, refrained from it. Parliament session is set to end on Wednesday.
Large number of people gathered in
Mizoram capital Aizawl to protest against the bill, even as prohibitory orders were clamped in Imphal East and Imphal West districts of Manipur.
Manipur has witnessed raging protest against the bill in the last few days.

Assam Students Union, North East Students’ Organization and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti are in New Delhi meeting leaders of different
political parties.
Aasu had said that it will move court if the bill is passed by the Upper House too. It is consulting lawyers and legal experts. “We will take legal recourse if the bill is passed in Upper House,” said Aasu president, Dipank Kumar Nath.
