NEW DELHI: The video of a 27-year-old man, who allegedly committed suicide four days ago in northeast Delhi’s Khajuri Khas, went viral on Wednesday. The victim had released a video where he alleged that he was tortured and humiliated by some men, which drove him to take this step.
DCP (northeast) Atul Kumar Thakur said the victim has been identified as Yashvir and a case of abetting suicide has been registered for further investigation. The three accused — Pushpender Bansal, Tushar Bansal and Kapil Nagar — are absconding.
The minute-long video shows Yashvir saying that he had been driven to commit suicide as Tushar had put up his posters everywhere in the city.
“They have made it difficult for me to leave my house and have put up posters with my name to humiliate me. I wrote to everyone to listen to my case but got no help. Someone please save me,” Yashvir is heard saying in the video, stating that he would hang himself due to the ‘torture’ inflicted by the accused men.
Before ending the video, he made a final request that his family members be provided security.
His family alleged that Nagar and Tushar Bansal were demanding money from Yashvir over a payment and when he was unable to repay them, they started threatening him and also allegedly put posters conveying the same in the area. They also said that they had given a plot to Bansal to settle the payment but they still demanded the money.
