The board exams of various education boards have started. Every year lakhs of class 10 and class 12 students go through exam stress. During this time of the year, students are at the peak of anxiousness and take a lot of exam related stress.

Many students find it hard to overcome their nervousness. Here are a few tips for students who will appear for the board exam this year:

1) Fight your anxiety by setting realistic goals

While anxiety can help you perform well, however, if it is too high, it can be destructive. The best way to overcome anxiety is to set-up realistic goals with proper study planning. Solve previous year exam papers, mock test, and sample questions to make sure you know what are your strong points and which topics you need to revise. Also, remember that marks aren't everything! So, you should stay relaxed, make sure you don't miss out on your leisure time. Take out some time to do what you love such as swimming, cycling, dancing, running or playing a sport.

2) Increase your concentration skill

Due to anxiety, students feel hard to concentrate on their studies. Whenever you feel that you are not able to concentrate on studies, take a break. Taking a break at short intervals, say every 30 minutes, will help you relax and start your studies again with full concentration. Set a time-based target for yourself and take a short break before going back to studies. Select difficult subjects to revise when your concentration and energy levels are high.

3) Make good food habits

You might have often heard that for a healthy mind you need a healthy body. And for a healthy body, you need to make healthy food choices. Avoid fast-food and oily foods. Never skip your breakfast, eat more fruits and light meals before and during exams. Also, make sure you drink a lot of water to stay hydrated.

4) Get enough sleep

Peacefully sleep is very important for your body and mind to recover. Make sure you get at least eight to nine hours of sleep. But ensure that you sleep for at a stretch. Intermittent sleep will not give proper rest to your body and might make you feel lousy while studying.
