The State government will release the merit list of the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination on February 15, according to HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. The examination was held from December 24, 2018 to January 31 in two spells to recruit 7,902 teachers.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that about 6.08 lakh candidates applied for the DSC examination and of them 5.05 lakh (85.81%) aspirants took the test. About the SSC examination, the Minister said it would be held from March 18 to April 2. “A total of 6.34 lakh students will take the examination at 2,838 centres. The results will be out on April 2,” he said.
About 150 flying squads would be deployed across the State. Some 100 centres were identified as sensitive and they would be under the CCTV surveillance, said Mr. Srinivasa Rao.
With regard to the Intermediate examinations, the Minister said they would be conducted from February 27 to March 18. “About 10.17 lakh students will appear for the examinations at 1,430 centres. It is planned to release the results on April 12,” said Mr. Srinivasa Rao.
EAMCET schedule
He also announced the schedule of various common entrance examinations. The AP Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (APEAMCET) would be held from April 20. While the test for the engineering stream would be held from April 20 to 22, the examination for agriculture stream would be held on April 23 and 24.
“The result date of EAMCET is tentatively scheduled for May 1. The APICET will be held on April 26 and the results will be out on May 3. The APPGECET will be conducted by Andhra University from May 1 to May 4 and the results will be released on May 11. The APEDCET will be held on May 6 and the results will be announced on May 10. The APLAWCET will be conducted on May 6 and the results are proposed to be released on May 13,” said Mr. Srinivasa Rao.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao, Commissioner of School Education Sandhya Rani and others were present.
