Deepika Padukone reinvents waves to make them red carpet ready

In case you missed it, Deepika Padukone joined Bollywood A-listers like Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Sonakshi Sinha, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan and Karisma Kapoor for the Filmfare Glamour & Style Awards 2019 last night, and took home the award for Most Glamorous Female Star. The actor opted for a statement-making coral Jean Louis Sabaji gown for her night out, and rounded it off with statement earrings and an equally impactful beauty look. Padukone’s long-time hairstylist Georgiou Gabriel styled her long tresses into slicked back waves and tucked them behind her ears, while the makeup was kept luminous and bright with a focus on strong brows and sculpted cheekbones.

Though Padukone’s husband Ranveer Singh did not make it to the event, he made his appreciation for his wife clear on social media with cheeky comments like “Aise na mujhe tum dekho … 🎼💞” and “oh hi there 😏.” Scroll ahead to find out how you can get the standout makeup and hairstyle for yourself.

1. Take a dime-sized amount of styling cream and apply on damp hair, focusing on the ends and working the product up to the mid-lengths. The Kérastase L’incroyable Blow-Dry Reshapable Cream provides a great foundation for a smooth, sleek finish without weighing your hair down, and makes for a good option. Blow-dry using a boar bristle brush to create volume.
2. When your strands are completely dry, use a balm to nix flyaways and set strands flat at the crown. Press a finishing creme like the one by Ouai on your crown and tuck your hair behind the ears. Separate the rest of the strands into thicker sections for larger, softer waves. Wrap each piece around the curling iron, hold for five seconds and release.
3. After layering on a hydrating primer to create a lit-from-within, glowing complexion, start by using a luminous finish foundation like the Sephora Collection Brightening And Hydrating Foundation. Then, contour using a concealer a few shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Use short strokes and a concealer brush to place product in the middle of the forehead, across the brow bones, under the eyes and on the centre of the chin, and then blend it all in. Apply a darker contour product or a darker shade of concealer on the areas you want to create depth at, such as under the cheekbones or near the hairline.
4. Choose a blush that is close to your natural flush and dab it on the apples of your cheeks, blending upwards towards the temples. Add a hint of glow on the cheekbones to help reflect light and enhance natural bone structure. Swipe on the NYX Dose of Dew Face Gloss and tap in to blend and diffuse the shine.
5. Fill in the brows with a brow pencil and follow with a brow gel to set them in place. For the eyes, The Urban Decay Naked3 Palette has all the shimmery shades you need. Use a nude shadow on the entire lid as a base first. Then, apply pink eyeshadow to the crease and blend outwards. For the inner corners, go with a champagne shade.
