The agency released a statement today declaring the allegations of sexual harassment against Barrett 'unsubstantiated'.

Global creative agency network BBH Global has cleared Russell Barrett, chief creative officer and managing partner, BBH India of harassment allegations.

Allegations of sexual harassment against Barrett were raised by an ex-employee of BBH India (part of Publicis Groupe) in a post on Twitter last month. It was posted on the social media platform by writer and journalist Sandhya Menon, through her personal Twitter handle. Menon has been at the fore of the #MeToo movement, with her Twitter posts being a source of major exposés.

Barrett, had then responded with a detailed note in a social media post addressed to Menon - an open letter refuting all allegations against him. BBH India launched an investigation at the time citing the agency's 'zero-tolerance policy' towards workplace misconduct.

The latest statement issued by BBH Global reads:

"A few weeks ago, unsubstantiated allegations of sexual harassment were published online by a #MeToo campaigner about Russell Barrett, chief creative officer an managing partner, BBH India. Given the serious nature of the allegations and our zero tolerance policy towards any form of harassment in the workplace, we immediately began an investigation.

A thorough investigation was conducted by an independent committee and found no evidence of misconduct whatsoever. The committee has fully cleared Russell Barrett of the allegations and any misconduct.

BBH strongly believes in providing a safe, fair and just working environment to all our employees without exception."
