Lok Sabha, Prime Minister
Narendra Modi reiterated the importance of a majority government and its affect in the overall governance of India.
16th Lok Sabha will be remembered as it has the highest number of
women parliamentarians, said Modi. He also applauded the role of all the parliamentarians for their effort in passing various landmark legislations.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Modi said "We used to hear that an earthquake will come. No such thing happened. Kabhi hawai jahaaz uday gaye, lekin loktantra ki maryada itni unchi hai ki koi hawai jahaz uss unchchai tak nahi ja paya."
PM Modi's speech assumes special significance after SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav expressed his desire to see Narendra Modi as the PM for a second term.
Hailing the International Solar Alliance and India's contribution, Modi said it is a great initiative in exploring the domain of alternative energy and renewable power.
Modi said "The world today is discussing the issue of global warming and India has made an effort for the formation of the International Solar Alliance to combat this problem.
Narendra Modi also stressed that his government made all efforts to work for all sections of society, especially the poor and marginalized."
Government's effort to make laws to tackle black money and corruption was instrumental in developing a strong edifice which will be beneficial for years to come, said Modi.
