New York Detective Killed By "Friendly Fire" While Responding To Robbery

The detective was identified as Brian Simonsen, 42, a 19-year veteran of the force. He was shot in the chest and declared dead at Jamaica Hospital, Police Commissioner James O'Neill told reporters.
