150 employees of HPCL participated

In an attempt to create awareness of the need to conserve oil, about 150 employees of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited across the city gathered near K.K. Nagar arch and began a walkathon on Tuesday.

The event was part of ‘Saksham’, an annual one-month-long people-centric mega campaign of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA).

Workers from various gas agencies educated the people on efficient use of LPG for cooking.

Through placards and slogans, they raised awareness of the need to conserve fossil fuels to ensure their availability for future generations too.

HPCL Deputy General Manager (Madurai region) R. Anbuchezian and Inspector of Police Suresh inaugurated the walkathon, which culminated at Aravind Eye Hospital.
