ALLAHABAD: Bihar governor Lalji Tandon's tent, located at Triveni Shankul in Arail area on the Mela campus, caught fire late Tuesday night. No injuries were reported in the incident but it created panic among devotees in the locality who were safely evacuated before it could spread to other tents. A short circuit is reported to be the reason behind the incident.
SSP Kumbh KP Singh told TOI that the fire broke out at around 2.30am and the devotees staying inside the camp woke up after seeing a spark. Three fire fighting teams were able to douse the fire.
The Bihar governor was shifted to circuit house while others were also accommodated in different tents.
