This third generation of the BMW S 1000 RR also has been souped up with a lot of changes. It now comes with all-new 998cc in-line four engine that produces 204bhp and 83Nm of peak torque which is 3 kilos lighter than the 2018 model. It has an 8bhp increase over the outgoing 2018 model. Not just an increase in power, but it has also become leaner by shedding down 10.6 kilos in total. The tank size is now getting compromised by one litre and now the bike weighs 197 kilos.

The 2019 edition features a 6.5-inch TFT screen for the instrument console, while an up or down quick-shifter and cruise control which can be added as an option. It will also be available in new M packages which will include carbon fibre wheels, race livery and more, that’s a first for any BMW motorcycle. Along with this, the new tech brings variable valve timing and valve stroke to the intake side of the valve train. The geometry of the intake and exhaust ports have been revised for optimisation. It also features conventional twin headlamps with projector lens and LED DRLs.

On the electronics front, the BMW will be equipped with standard features like a six-axis IMU that brings features like cornering ABS or ABS Pro, and Dynamic Traction Control, which will ensure that the bike is more controllable. And the bike will come with DTC Wheelie Control with four riding modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race.
