Tirupur: Arputhammal, mother of life convict A G Perarivalan in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, said she will continue with her campaign seeking release of his son and six other convicts till Tamil Nadu governor Banwarilal Purohit signs documents enabling their release.

She was in the city on Wednesday seeking support for her campaign - ‘Dear injustice, 28 years not enough’. She interacted with people gathered to meet her on Uthukuli Road.

Speaking to reporters, Arputhammal said, “Despite the state assembly passing a resolution to release the seven convicts of the assassination case, the governor has not signed the papers approving the release. The convicts have completed 28 years in jail.”

“So, I have started the campaign to gather people’s support. Tirupur was the twelfth district of my campaign, and I hope that people of Tamil Nadu will extend their support to me,” she said.
