Animal Husbandry Minister Venkatrao Nadagouda has urged B.S. Yeddyurappa, State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, to take political retirement immediately as he has admitted to the fact that he met the son (Sharangouda) of Janata Dal(S) MLA from Gurmitkal Nagangouda Kandkur, following the release of an audio clip by the Chief Minister on the alleged efforts by the BJP to lure MLAs.
Talking to reporters in Raichur on Sunday, Mr. Nadagouda said that “he (Mr. Yeddyuarappa) had earlier denied his role in the whole episode. But, today he has admitted that he met the MLA’s son. It only shows that he had committed a mistake.”
“Therefore, he should retire from politics as he had already said that he would keep his words,” Mr Nadagouda added.
Mr. Yeddyurappa has developed the habit of saying lies, to cover an earlier lie.
“In the fear of facing an inquiry, he [Mr. Yeddyurappa] might have admitted to a ‘fact’,” Mr. Nadagouda added.
The Minister said that Speaker Ramesh Kumar has also been named in the audio. Therefore, it is his [the Speaker’s] decision to conduct a suitable inquiry to bring the truth out.
