Durfee senior Jaelin Jang took sixth place in the individual medley, to highlight her strong showing at the South Sectional Swimming and Diving Championships this past weekend at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Jang, who qualified for sectionals in all of the individual events, swam the individual medley in 2:19.51. She also was 14th in the 500 freestyle (5:39.97) and joined teammates Abby Long, Melia Bouramia and Mackenzie Reed for 28th in the 200 freestyle relay in a state-qualifying 2:50.55.
Jang will also be swimming individually at the State Championships this Saturday at Boston University.
Bishop Connolly sophomore Rachel Medeiros also competed at the sectionals, finishing 16th in the 500 freestyle (5:46.32) and 21st in the 200 freestyle (2:05.33). She will swim the 200 free at states this weekend.
