BSY accuses Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy of writing script for the recording

The former Chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who earlier termed an audio clip released by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy as a mimicry, did a U-turn on Sunday and admitted that he did meet Sharanagouda, the son of Gurmitkal MLA Naganagouda Kandkur.

His admission comes a day after Congress leaders urged the Chief Justice of India to take suo motu notice of the contents of the clip.

Speaking to presspersons at Hubballi airport before the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address a rally, Mr. Yeddyurappa, however, accused Mr. Kumaraswamy of writing the script for the recording.

“Mr. Kumaraswamy is indulging in third-grade politics. It is true that I met Shankargouda [Sharanagouda]. Mr. Kumaraswamy sent the MLA’s son to me to make me speak according to their requirements and then used whatever was useful. But they have covered up a few truths,” he said.

Mr. Yeddyurappa said he was ready to face any enquiry pertaining to the audio clip.

It may be noted that Mr. Kumaraswamy had released the audio clip containing Mr. Yeddyurappa’s purported conversation with Mr. Sharanagouda during which he allegedly tries to lure the latter to the BJP.

Mr. Yeddyurappa then referred to an earlier statement by Prajwal Revanna, son of H.D. Revanna, Minister for Public Works, about a ‘suitcase culture’ prevalent in the JD(S) and added that a clip pertaining to Mr. Kumaraswamy’s demand for money for giving a post to an MLC will be released on Monday.
