4.7 tonne of red sanders logs seized in Tamil Nadu, 4 detained

VELLORE: A special team of police seized 4.7 tonne of red sanders logs being transported on a mini truck near Latheri in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu on Monday morning. The police team detained four men for smuggling the red sanders logs.
Acting on a tip off, a team of police headed by Katpadi DSP M Loganathan conducted a vehicle check at Karasamangalam. They intercepted a mini truck and found red sanders logs in it. The police team seized the logs and the vehicle and detained Ammanullah, 32, Aslam 28, Feroze, 21, and Mahaboob Basha, 20.
The men told the police that they had been transporting the logs from a warehouse at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh to an unknown location in Chennai.
