BENGALURU: A couple sustained 60 per cent burns after they got electrocuted when they came in contact with a live wire during their house-warming ceremony in Nandini Layout on Sunday evening. The injured have been identified as Ramesh (28), a private company employee, and his wife Yeshoda (25), residents of Nanjundewara Nagar.

The police said the incident occurred when Manikanta, a cable operator, was giving a connection to residents on the first floor. The couple had shifted to the house from Mahalakshmi Layout just that day.
The cable came in contact with a high tension wire nearby and Manikanta threw it away to save himself. The wire fell on Ramesh who was electrocuted. Yashodha rushed to his rescue and was also electrocuted.
