HYDERABAD: The 17-year-old girl who was stabbed several times by a stalker will be kept under medical observation on Monday too, in order to observe if there any changes in the functioning of vital organs. Doctors at Yashoda Hospital weaned her off mechanical ventilator support on Saturday after her condition improved.

The girl was attacked by a stalker on Wednesday, who stabbed her multiple times with a sickle leading to at least 15 serious injuries.

Doctors said that since injuries were caused by a rusted weapon, chances of infection were high for another couple of days.

Her blood pressure could not be recorded when she was admitted at the hospital and as she had remained unconscious for around 48 hours.

She regained consciousness on Friday and was able to understand what doctors were saying to her. However, she was unable to talk as she had received an injury to the lower jaw.
