‘Amaravati will be catalyst for social well-being’

Experts from 26 countries taking part in Happy Cities Summit

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu assured people that the capital city Amaravati would play a key role in their economic and social well-being.

Knowledge-based economy

During a teleconference at the Happy Cities Summit : Amaravati- 2019 being organised at Novotel Hotel in Vijayawada from February 13 to 15, Mr. Naidu said the objective of such global events was to develop the capital city as one of the happiest in the world and set it as an international benchmark in the Citizen Happiness Index (CHI), thereby attract investments.

Asserting that Amaravati would shape up into a knowledge-based economy and a favourable destination for investors, he said the city would act as a catalyst in the growth of Andhra Pradesh by generating employment through its nine thematic sub-cities.

Meanwhile, Mr. Naidu directed the A.P-Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) to make the summit a success and showcase the strength of A.P. to the world.

Common platform

Principal Secretary (CRDA) Ajay Jain said the Summit would bring together city leaders, policymakers and industry veterans from 26 countries to discuss solutions for urban issues and innovations for new and emerging cities on the principle of happiness.

Resolutions on governance, artificial and natural environments, livelihoods, culture and community and physical and mental well-being would be adopted, said CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar.
