Kamal Nath has ended BJP rule’s transfer racket: Congress

Agencies, Bhopal, The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee returned fire on Saturday at the Assembly’s Leader of the Opposition Gopal Bhargava’s charges by claiming that the transfers business which “flourished” during the predecessor Bharatiya Janata Party’s one-and-a-half-decade-long tenure has been terminated by the present dispensation.

“Postings are constituents of a regular process. However, some favourite officers occupying plum positions for years were running the government and became the principal centres of a system of graft. There were bids for posts during BJP rule,” Media Coordinator Narendra Saluja said in a release.

During those years everything bore a price tag and it is universally known who was at the regime’s central point behind the scenes, he said, adding that bureaucrats paid money on monthly basis to continue in office.

“That is precisely why the system of administration was in shambles and an alliance of corruption held sway. As soon as he assumed the reins, Chief Minister Kamal Nath scotched dishonesty and accorded weightage to work. The chakravyuh of fraudulence in some departments was broken. Now no official requires a tout to convey his sentiments to the apex,” Mr Saluja explained.

This new system resulted in priority being given to public work; officials and the populace are both elated, he said, adding that the bureaucrats have comprehended the Chief Minister’s style of functioning and remain at Mantralaya from morning till late evening giving precedence to public welfare efforts and decisions.

“He has put an end to a tout system that was a spectre for years. How is the BJP – which nourished double-dealing – levelling such false charges? A person occupying a position of responsibility such as the Assembly’s Leader of the Opposition ought to contemplate prior to accusing the Congress of distributing liquor,” the Coordinator wrote.

The Leader of the Opposition incorrectly alleged that a certain leader from Seoni made such an offer at a place in the vicinity of Misrod near the state capital, Mr Saluja said, adding that a person who was ordered to supply food packed the same in empty beer cartons.

“If the accuser is in possession of a photograph, video clip or any other evidence of either liquor being present within the carton or any Congress worker consuming an intoxicant then let the same be made public else an apology must be tendered. Food packets were distributed under a banner within a tent at a public place. The BJP excels in propaganda,” he felt.
