Expect a miserable ride home Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm watch for Tuesday in Norfolk, Middlesex and Essex counties. Snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch are possible.

Plymouth and Bristol counties, Cape Cod and the islands will escape the brunt of the storm, but will still see some snow, sleet and freezing rain.

The storm is expected to hit by noon, first as snow falling at an inch an hour before turning to rain, ending Wednesday morning.
