Congress’ dwindling seat share in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 11: There was a time when the Congress was the only national-level political party in India and it would comfortably win well over the required number seats to form the government. Till about the 70s, Congress dominated the Indian politics with virtually no formidable opposition. Since, then in the 80s, Congress' seat share began dropping and other parties started gaining prominence.
