Now, Pataliputra University starts online registration

PATNA: Pataliputra University (PPU) has launched online registration facility for the students of undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational and professional courses in its 25 constituent and affiliated colleges. PPU vice-chancellor (VC) Gulab Chand Ram Jaiswal has taken this initiative to maintain transparency in admission and registration process.
PPU pro-VC Girish Kumar Choudhary said the decision was taken at a meeting with the principals of all the constituent colleges on Saturday. “The online registration facility will make it easy for the students who can get himself/herself registered even through their cellphones,” he said.
Choudhary said students should PPU website ppup.ac.in to register directly by furnishing details of the institution and courses enrolled for. “This facility is open for all the PPU students of regular , vocational and professional courses. The students have to register themselves by February 20,” he said.
According to PPU media incharge B K Mangalam, every college principal has been asked to start a help desk in the college to guide students in the online registration process. Besides, principals have been given user IDs and passwords to assist students and keep a tab on their online registration process as well, he said.
“The PPU has decided to introduce online registration to check mistakes in names or various other discrepancies related to courses and choice of subjects,” Choudhary said.
Meanwhile, RLSY College (Bakhtiyarpur) principal Pravin Kumar urged the university to release its own courses of studies in the larger interest of honours students at the earliest. M D College Naubatpur principal Kanhaiya Prasad Sinha also stressed on the need of maintaining academic calendar of the PPU to conduct examinations and publish results on time.
