The show will showcase landmark verdicts that restored people's faith in the court of justice.

In a country with over a billion people, where the crime rates have been if not been abundant but substantial, the judiciary plays a key role in bringing justice to its citizens. While most of us have a hint, the functioning of our judicial system is not known to many. Due to the lack of requisite knowledge, most of us don't even know what it takes to keep the wheels of justice going. This is where COLORS fills in the gap. Known for creating meaningful entertainment for the television, COLORS is back with another based-on-true-events show. The new show Courtroom is a crime-legal drama which explores the essence of the Indian legal system and aims to affects the collective consciousness in a positive way. The show has already premiered on February 9, 2019 and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. only on COLORS.

From charges to verdicts, courtroom is inspired by the real court cases as it unveils the actual proceedings. With Sacchai Haazir Ho as its premise, the show is expected to keep the viewers hooked by bringing true incidents to the screen and showing how citizens can trust the legal system for an unbiased and fair verdict. The show is also expected to showcase in detail - how the system actually works and why one should not be hesitant in reaching out and seeking help for any kind of unjust. The show will be hosted by Actor, Vikas Kumar.

On bringing forth shows that drives awareness said Nina ElaviaJaipuria - Head, Hindi Mass Entertainment and Kids TV Network, Viacom18, "At COLORS, it has always been our conscious endeavour to pick up topics that are relatable and furthers the well-being of the society at large. The concept of Courtroom has been designed to give viewers a kaleidoscopic view of the legal proceedings and how a verdict is arrived in the court of law which is considered the most sanctimonious place in a legal system. The show is one-of-a-kind in the Hindi General Entertainment space and its edge of the seat content will make it an interesting viewing proposition."

Manisha Sharma, Chief Content Officer, Hindi Mass Entertainment at Viacom18 said, "Most crime shows end with police putting handcuffs for the culprit which makes people believe that the criminal has been found but that's only one side of the story. The real story or the truth is confirmed in the court and with Courtroom we will present cases inspired from real life cases. The episodes will highlight cases like Me too, Road rage, etc. These cases are stories of conviction and courage as the court trials is long and tedious process".

Vipul D Shah (Founding Chairman and MD), Optimystix Entertainment India Pvt Ltd, said,"Whether it is the framing of charges, arguments, recreation of the crime scene, forensics or evidence, a judge is bound by law to give every aspect fair consideration. This is what Courtroom - SacchaiHaazirHo is about. Each case is analysed in two parts and features an ensemble cast. The audience will realise that the role of a judge is much more layered and complex than it appears. After all, the verdict can make or break a person's life."

To connect with the masses, the creators of Courtroom are dedicated to spread the message across the mediums. To deliberate the topic of #DecodingJustice, an engaging panel discussion was organized in Delhi. The variant panel featured people from social activists to personalities from the showbiz world like Bollywood Actress - Swara Bhasker, Advocate Supreme Court - VivekNaryan Sharma, Rina Mukherjee, Chief Councilator - Surat Geeta Shroff, independent journalist and media consultant - Rina Mukherjee.

Moderated by Richa Anirudh, the panel deliberated on subjects ranging from decoding the legal system to throwing light on the resources used by the investigators, the panelists discussed the journey of a trial and shared their opinions on landmark cases. They debated also the role of citizens in the judicial system.

Also, Delhi is not the only city the channel will be covering. To continue raising awareness and educating the citizens, more such events will be conducted in various cities across the country. The channel aims to bring top eminent personalities across various domains and highlight the working of the highest institution of the Indian Judicial System.

COLORS has yet again joined the wagon of offering shows that are not only entertaining but are also deep and meaningful. In a country where still a majority of the population is an avid TV watcher, Coutroom seems to be a one-of-a-kind show which is focused on creating awareness as well as providing knowledge. With this show, the viewers are expected increase their judicial knowledge base that otherwise are mostly dependent on the system without much active involvement.
