Four lane work of BCT Road affected due to compensation issue

The work for the four laning of the strategically important BCT Road has been affected as local people are not allowing the to work in West district due to non-finalisation of of land acquisition compensation issue, officials said on Monday.

Local people are not allowing the BRO to work in the widening and four laning of the Bhalukpong-Charduar-Tawang (BCT) Road between Elephant and Sessa villages due to non- finalisation of land acquisition due to compensation issue, Tezpur-based Defence said in a release on Monday quoting Project Vartak

Though compensation estimate was earlier given by the and BRO was ready to make payment, but due to certain complaint received on the compensation estimate, revised estimate was asked from the Deputy Commissioner of in July 2018 which has not yet been finalised, the release said.

The BRO is ready to make the payment immediately on receipt of estimate from DC Bomdila, it said.

The constructing agency has appealed to the villagers to allow the construction activities in the stretch of road to avoid delay in completion of the project.

The widening and double lane work on BCT road is presently under progress by the BRO, the release added.
