A strong order book helped auto ancillary company Motherson Sumi Systems report net profit of Rs 389.06 crore during the third quarter (October to December) of current fiscal 2018-19.

It was Rs 364.49 crore in the corresponding period of last year, the company informed stock exchanges on Monday.

The company posted quarterly consolidated revenue at Rs 16,473 crore for the quarter ended December 2018 compared to Rs 14,388 crore.

Motherson Sumi Systems is one of the leading manufacturer of automotive wiring harnesses, mirrors for passenger cars and a leading supplier of plastic components and modules to the automotive industry.

Its broad business portfolio includes wiring harnesses, mirrors for passenger car, injection moulded products, modules including dashboards, door trims, bumpers, blow moulded components, liquid silicone rubber moulded components, injection moulding tools, extruded rubber products, precision machined metal components and waste recycling systems.
