End stray dog menace, Bawankule to officials

Nagpur: People have to suffer every day about problems related to water, non-functioning streetlights, choked sewerline, encroachment, sanitation and drainage problems. To resolve these problems, district guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule issued directives to concerned departments officials.
He was speaking at his Jansamwad — a campaign to address complaints of citizens from Laxmi Nagar zone. During the four-hour meeting, about 50 complaints were resolved by Bawankule. The citizens complained that dogs and pigs are creating nuisance in residential societies near Priyadarshini Engineering College, Sonegaon.
To this, Bawankule said stray dog and pig menace is not restricted to any particular area and asked NMC’s veterinary department to resolve this issue.
The minister also expressed concern over rise in encroachments over footpaths and asked NMC’s enforcement department to carry out anti-encroachment drive quite often. He also asked the slum department to prepare a detailed report over slums in Laxmi Nagar zone area.
Mayor Nanda Jichkar, ruling party leader Sandip Joshi, standing committee chairman Virendra Kukreja, zone’s chairman Suresh Bhoyar, additional municipal commissioner Ravindra Thakre and others were present.
