60-year-old woman dies of swine flu

VADODARA: A 60-year-old female on Saturday afternoon passed away in the city taking the total death toll due to swine flu to 13 in Vadodara city and district since the beginning of this year.
The female resident of Vasna Road, who was admitted at a private hospital, passed away at 3.30 pm. On Saturday, samples of ten other patients also tested positive of H1N1 virus. Of the ten patients which tested positive of swine flu, seven are residents of areas falling within the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) limits, two hail from rural areas of the district while one patient hails from Narmada district.
The seven new cases of swine flu positive patients have been reported from Vadsar Road, Chhani, Karelibaug, Tarsali and Manjalpur areas of the city while in Vadodara rural, the new swine flu cases have been reported from Kamrol village of Waghoidya taluka and Karodiya village of Vadodara taluka.
With the seven new cases, the total number of swine flu positive cases within the VMC limits has reached 118 of which 43 have been cured while 65 patients are presently under treatment. Ten patients have died so far within VMC limits.
In Vadodara rural, with the two new cases that were reported on Saturday, the total number of swine flu positive cases have touched 22 of which eight have been cured, 11 are undergoing treatment while three have died.
