2 ATM thieves arrested in Kanpur

Picture used for representational purpose only KANPUR: Two ATM thieves have been arrested by surveillance team of ADG Kanpur zone on Sunday. Ajay and Manish Kumar, both residents of Shyamnagar area of Chakeri, were arrested while they were on way to hack another ATM on Sunday, the official told TOI. The accused, both motor mechanic, informed the police that they used to switch off the ATM power panel and then steal the money, said the official.
“They also used to put off the CCTV installed in the ATM before stealing money,” said official further. The accused have admitted committing crimes at Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. The police have recovered 19 ATM cards and Rs 8,000 in cash from their possession. “Following inputs given by the two, the police are now on lookout for their accomplices,” said ADG Kanpur zone Avinash Chandra. tnn
